Well, for the first post on 2009 I'm going to praise friends and friendship in general.
In times of social and economic crisis like nowadays, the real values like this reveal as a valid answer for the "What actually counts for me ? " question.
A couple of days ago I was having a small birthday (ok, I'm 40 and that's irreversible ;-) dinner and I really felt like friends are my "family of choice"...
Great wine has done the rest of the feelgood status... ;-)

Un anno fa' ero in attesa di (almeno) una risposta... Dove andrò ? Cosa devo fare ? Quale senso della vita posso abbracciare ? Per tanti versi alle mie tante domande una risposta è arrivata nel frattempo. Parlo ovviamente di Stefan, mio figlio. Sono molto felice per questo motivo. Altre domande mi vengono comunque in mente adesso: cosa farà lui da grande ? è giusto che lui cresca qui o nel suo paese di origine (che tra altro non ha ancora visitato) ? Sarà felice ? Si farà tante domande come il suo papà ? ;-)

Le domande ci sono sempre. Le risposte hanno senso per un breve periodo di tempo poi scadono come il latte o il prosciutto. E devono essere ri-pensate, ri-formulate, ri-sposte.

Din bune intentii, pasiune si strictul tehnic necesar, oamenii pot sa faca lucruri minunate pentru cei din jur si mai ales pentru cei care au nevoie de acele lucruri: citeste o poveste, inregistreaz-o in mp3, pune-o pe un cd sau intr-un spatiu web disponibil si in felul asta un copil nevazator (si nu numai) se va bucura de ceea ce astazi poate beneficia doar prin binevointa unui cititor de ocazie (parinti, prieteni) . Gramo-people au facut lucrul asta si sper din toata inima ca poate fi considerat "doar un inceput". Mai multe detalii aici.

How to collaborate online for FREE

If you need a place on the web where to exchange some files, comment them, publish some basic webpages, etc. at no cost today there are a few valid options on the net. There have been different solutions for the past decade but now these reflect a higher reliability and ease of use.

Let's start with simple things. Your need is just to Share some files:
1. Microsoft provides upto 5 Gb on http://skydrive.live.com/welcome.aspx?provision=1
2. Adobe gives just 1 Gb: https://share.adobe.com/

There are many other players on the web (http://www.xdrive.com/, http://www.box.net/, http://www.omnidrive.com/) but these two seem both reliable & userfriendly.

If things are extending to a further more "collaborative context" there you will find:
1. MS with http://workspace.officelive.com/ (mostly for personal use) or http://smallbusiness.officelive.com/ (small companies, 5 persons). The origin for these two is a good SharePoint 2007 Microsoft customization !

2. Google apps: http://www.google.com/a/ that enables you to share and edit online docs, publish a basic website, have calendars, chat, etc. Originally comes out as a packaging of different google services as mail (famous 5+ Gb), google docs+spreadsheets+presentations, google sites, talk, etc.

These are simple hints that I would give to any friend might ask me about collaboration online.
I would also suggest to share only low-confidential data and use at least a basic personal security option (zip with password for a start). Avoid to share copyrighted material. Most of the FREE services detect sooner or later this kind of content and (depending on your local regulations) you might get in trouble.

Very interesting. And somehow frightening: everyone talks about the end of Darwinism era (evolutionism conducted by nature conditions) and begining of genome juggling (lego-ing with dna to build new organisms and stuff...)

They were my grandparents: Luigi & Natalia. For no particular reason today I've decided that there must be a place on this huge web that should remember them. For now I'll put a timeline photo of Natalia (born Fagaraseanu) and Luigi (born Alois Hugel, later changed to Luigi Baluta). Sometimes such a photo speakes for itself. Words may hardly tell their stories. Now they are here, on this blog page, not only in my heart and in other few people memory. ;-)

We've had the BigBubble (web 1.0 ?!)
Now we're living through the web 2.0 (social, user-centric, blabla).
What about the web 3.0 ?! (semantic-3d-web ?!) What colour is the edge of knowledge towards the next future ? Well, trying to find answers I stumbled upon www.ted.com (I love this site. Most of the presentations are "braincandies"). That's how I found out about the Johnatan Harris mashups (i.e. http://universe.daylife.com/ and http://wefeelfine.org). Great work.
Well, partially it gives me an answer on the 3.0 hamletika: We'll never know exactely "where" (as a target or milestone) but we might sometimes sense the path as we enlarge our vision (funny Philippe Stark on his explanation of vision. see it on http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/view/id/197)

I come with a new post in here !!!
Hurrah...
Well... the idea is that I forgot this blog the minute I created it.
Now it's part of google family tools and therefore (somehow) easier to use.
Hope I write down something here sooner than 24 months... ;-)
